Magi
Cuaidaitheoir filius Mohan ex Miscellanea: The magus who originally came up with the idea of the covenant, Cuaidaitheoir is a member of the Lineage of Pralix, skilled with Vim magic, and harbors the forbidden knowledge of Diedne magics. Fascinated by exotic hedge traditions and concerned with their loss across Europe, he has made it his goal to preserve what knowledge he can and turn it to Hermetic usage. At 30, he is the eldest of the five magi, and possibly the best-educated, with a focus on Aristotle.
Boagane filius Curragh ex Miscellanea: A boisterous, giant-blooded Damhadh-Duidsan, Boagane is a Manx wizard who struck up a odd friendship with Cuaidaitheoir while both were guesting at Cad Gadu two years ago. A committed anti-theist and anti-Catholic, Boagane's magic is cthonic in nature, relying as it does on the invocation of the dark gods of the pre-Hermetic Brythonic mages, which is likely to get him in trouble before too long. He is 25, focused on necromancy, and a skilled brawler.
Cornelia filia Leopoldo ex Miscellanea: A maloccha from Friuli, Cornelia has an ambitious spirit, but left the Roman Tribunal after finding herself a small fish in a big pond. Making her way to the Ordo Miscellanea's domus maga in Stonehenge, she encountered Cuaidaitheoir and Boagane and joined their little clique of magi. Seeing in Cuaidaitheoir's talk of a covenant dedicated to preserving hedge knowledge centered in his native Hibernia the possibility of advancing her political career, she encouraged the two to push ahead with their plans, and joined in their journey to Ireland. The 29-year-old maga is exceedingly talented in Mentem, as well as some Imaginem, and is Gently Gifted, as well as being the most charismatic of the group.
Lisovyk filius Svetoslav ex Miscellanea: A soft-hearted herbalist and Pharmacopeian, Lisovyk is from Suzdalia in the Novgorod Tribunal, but was apprenticed at the Leczyca Covenant in Poland. After his Gauntlet, he also spent time training in Salerno, learning mundane medical techniques in addition to magical ones, and came to Cad Gadu shortly after his education completed, eager to blend the two. Seeing the potential in such an extremely skilled herbalist, Cornelia quickly recruited him to the cause. Few know, however, that he has on occasion over the last year served certain of the English nobility in Ireland with his potions, and knows things about them he perhaps should not. Lisovyk is 28 years old and the only one among the group with any skill in Herbam.
Gamayun filia Rolf ex Miscellanea: The youngest and least-educated of the covenant, Gamayun is a Beast Mistress originally from Poland, although she speaks no Polish. Her parens Rolf, a German Beast Master, spirited her away from her family as a near-infant, and left her in the woods as is the tradition's way, keeping an eye on her from a distance but otherwise not interfering. Though she came close to death, she was able to befriend a falcon who brought her food and kept her alive. After years of feral living, Rolf came to her once more and took her under his wing, teaching her Latin as well as Hermetic ways. A skilled warrior and huntress, Gamayun Gauntleted at the beginning of 1218, just before the four other magi set out for Hibernia, and insisted on joining them, eager to get away from her old, cruel parens. She is 23, unsurprisingly talented with Animal, but also possesses Elemental Magic, most notably being skilled in the art of Ignem.
Companions
Ciardha Uí Ceinselaig: A distant cousin of Aoife MacMurrough, whose marriage to Strongbow began the Norman conquest of Ireland, Ciardha is effectively a knight, although more in the Irish fashion than anything. He hates the English for depriving his side of the clan the rightful kingship of Leinster, but is impotent to do more than harry them. The young warrior possesses both the lúan láith or hero's light, and a death prophecy claiming he need only fear death by one crowned at the Hill of Tara. The 24-year-old is an extremely skilled warrior, a friend of Cuaidaitheoir, and turb captain.
Gallchobar Ó Corraidhín: A man of Meath and senior bard trained at the bardic school of Leinster, Gallchobar is a larger-than-life figure. A skilled storyteller and swashbuckling rover, he possesses the kind of supernatural charisma written about in myth. Though not in-and-of-himself magical, he has an odd tendency to seem ageless and supernaturally striking: a fact which has unfortunately drawn the interest of Beara, the Divine Hag, a powerful winter Faerie who, legend claims, built Witch Mountain's tombs. 26 years old and once enamored with Cornelia, it is he who suggested Witch Mountain for their covenant, and serves the magi as a wandering merchant and spy.
Leonora Carter: A member of the Lancashire coven of folk witches, Leonora fled England to escape the destruction of her coven at the hands of a cruel lord, and fell in with the magi on their way to Ireland, becoming a close friend and confidant of Lisovyk. None of them know, however, that she was nearly killed herself in the destruction of the coven, and now lives as a viaticarius, caught between life and death with her powers slowly ebbing away. Her future is uncertain, with her body and powers already beginning to fail at 24, and with an enemy in Walter de Lacy, English governor of Meath, who believes the Lancashire coven had a hand in his father's death. She is the primary non-magical herbalist of Witch Mountain.
Nuallán Mohan: An enigmatic and outlandish monk of the monastery at Kells, Nuallán joined the covenant on Ciardha's request, being that they were old friends. While a committed monk, Nuallán's actual faith in God is fairly shaky--especially given his childhood as a fey ward, and his carefully-hidden skill with faerie wizardry. With the covenant lying so close to the monastery, he is able to split his time between the two, and even functions as the steward of the covenant. However, it is only a matter of time before his cleric duties and fey inclinations clash harder than can be maintained. He is 28 and practices the Ollamhain tradition. His warping manifests as dozens of tiny pin-like extrusions across his shoulders like vestigial feathers, while his fingernails have begun growing curved and black, like the claws of birds.
Ragnvald: The youngest of the companions and magi, Ragnvald is only twenty, but a skilled blacksmith and farrier. He uniquely possesses the ability to heal with his blacksmithing tools, and the ability to craft mystic horseshoes attuned to the Animal form that empower the beasts that wear them. While the magi know of his talents, only Boagane knows that he is also a lycanthrope, a werewolf, having been turned by a coven of infernalist Hjaltland (Shetland) lycanthropes who practiced a form of folk magic incorporating blacksmithing. While no longer an infernalist in belief, he remains exultant in the bestial side of himself, but struggles to keep it under control. It is worth noting that his skill with horseshoes also remains infernally-attuned.
Grogs
Eoin: The eldest of the covenfolk, Eoin is chamberlain of the covenant, leader of the covenfolk guild, and is highly loyal to the magi, although his only real skill is in gossip and the etiquette of the Order. He is 40 years old.
